Delhi private universities Bill: 25% seats reserved for local students, fee waivers proposed

Delhi's cabinet has approved a draft bill to establish private universities. This legislation mandates twenty-five percent of seats for Delhi students in all courses. The bill also proposes merit-cum-means scholarships for eligible Delhi students. Private universities will operate under a unitary model and adhere to UGC regulations. The government will have oversight and representation in university management structures.
